MemoServ

MemoServ is the Memo Service of Nightfire IRC. This can be used to send messages to users offline and they will receive them when they get online.

Send is used to send messages to a user.

The syntax for sending a message is,

/MSG MemoServ SEND NICK MESSAGE

An example of this would be,

/MSG MemoServ SEND Jcink Check your forum

This will send the message to the user. When they read their message, MemoServ will notify you.

SendOps is used to send a Memo to all op's on a channel.

You can only use this if you can view the access list, which you can test by using,

/MSG ChanServ flags #CHAN

If you get back,

1. ChanServ- You are not authorized to perform this operation.

Then you cannot use Sendops

The syntax to use SendOps is,

/MSG MemoServ SENDOPS #CHAN MESSAGE

an example of this would be,

/MSG MemoServ SENDOPS #Jcink.com Watch for spammers

This would send a Memo to all the ops with that message.

List is used to list the memo's in your inbox.

This will show who sent the memo, and when.

To use list use,

/MSG MemoServ LIST

Read is used to read your memo's.

To use this use,

/MSG MemoServ READ [#]

[#] is the number of the memo you want to read,

For example, if you had two memo's (Use list to view your memos numbers) and you wanted to read your second memo, you would use,

/MSG MemoServ READ 2

This would display that memo for you.

Forward is used to forward memos to other users.

To forward a memo use,

/MSG MemoServ FORWARD NICK [#]

[#] being the number of the memo. An example of this would be,

/MSG MemoServ FORWARD Jcink 3

This would send the users third memo to nick Jcink.

DEL and Delete do the same thing which is delete memos.

To use delete you can use this command,

/MSG MemoServ [DEL|DELETE] [#|ALL]

[#] would be the number of the memo you would want to delete, and ALL would delete all your Memos.

Ignore is used to ignore memo's from other users.

To use ignore you can use,

/MSG MemoServ IGNORE [ADD|DEL] NICK

ADD would add NICK to the ignore list, and DEL would delete NICK from the ignore list.

Two more commands for ignore would be,

/MSG MemoServ IGNORE [LIST|CLEAR]

List would list all the the nick's on ignore, and CLEAR would clear all nick's on the ignore list.

You can have up to 40 users on your ignore list.
